Efficiency, flexibility and reliability are the main requirements of a successful Freight Management system in a highly competitive industry.
We provide a highly flexible pricing engine that allows operators complete control over freight rates by item type, route, rate tier, shipper and many other criteria. Rates can be defined on a standalone basis or in terms of mark-ups or discounts with reference to an importable/exportable standard rates table, making maintenance of even the most complex rate structure simple. Freight pricing can be applied as weight-based, dimensional or per-item and can include surcharges, insurance/hazmat/handling fees and taxes.
Rate flexibility and scheduling versatility are our key strengths
Takeflite includes functionality for charging and tracking freight transferred to downline carriers/freight forwarders or for accepting and trans-shipping freight tendered by a mainline carrier. Downline carrier rates can be set up and applied automatically, providing seamless pricing at the time of booking.
IATA-standard air waybills are used throughout the system, both House Air Way Bills (AWB) generated within Takeflite or Master AWBs acquired from an upstream carrier can be attached to a freight booking through our fully integrated document management system.
A dedicated freight management interface allows dispatchers or load planners easy management of freight through various stages, including warehouse received, location and labelling, hazmat evaluation and TSA/customs inspection, through drag-and-drop assignment of freight to flights and onto delivery or collection.
Filter options facilitate easy selection of freight available to a given flight (including backhaul freight and intra-route freight on multi-stop flights). As importantly, the system makes it just as easy to remove freight from a flight without generating large administration overheads. Shipments can also be split by item or by weight for transportation on different flights. Once assigned, special loading manifests assist freight loaders by specifying warehouse locations, and various flight manifest formats provide tailored reports for aircrew, station agents and operations auditors.
Special functions are provided for tracking freight re-routed due to weather or mechanicals.
Efficient booking interfaces are provided for freight and mail runs, wherein the carrier receives numerous cargo items in bulk from a single shipper. These interfaces allow much quicker entry of such bookings.
The system also supports freight consolidations, in which items from multiple shippers are received separately but held for shipment together to a single receiver.
