Sounds Air has operated a scheduled
air service between Wellington, at the bottom of the North Island, and Picton at
the top of the South Island of
New Zealand since 1986. Historically we utilized
a paper based booking system which had a great deal of limitations in being efficient
and providing the correct information to staff and pilots.
A chance meeting with one of our
regular passengers, Neil Middleton from Contact Technology Ltd. provided Sounds
Air and Contact Technology with the ability to develop a system that small airlines
could use to book passengers over the phone. Over the next two years the system
was developed from scratch to the now third generation Takeflite.
Sounds Air has gone from a manual cash, or credit swipe business, operating 7 a.m.
to 6 p.m. to a 24 hour business where 25% of our passengers book after hours via
our website and all now pay utilising our payment gateway.
The savings that this have given
Sounds Air is immeasurable, not only financially, but also it frees up staff resources
to concentrate on what staff are good at, operating the business and providing customer
support. The computer system does what its good at, deal with numbers.
Takeflite will revolutionise any business that uses it, it is that good.
